Toruń was granted its city rights in 1233. It is now one of the most popular tourist and cultural centers of Poland. In December 1997 the Medieval Complex of Toruń was inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. The city is also a thriving economic and academic center.

Nicolaus Copernicus University

Nicolaus Copernicus University was established in Toruń in 1945. The University is one of the largest universities in Poland. The university cooperates with numerous foreign partners and is involved in the realization of many international research projects. Currently, the University is composed of seventeen Faculties.

Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management

The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management of NCU was founded in 1968. It is one of the best business and economics schools in Poland.

The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management (FESM) at Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU) in Toruń as the first and the only public school in Poland has earned accreditation by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Accommodation in dormitories


The NCU dormitories are situated within a five to ten minutes’ walk from the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management and near to the shopping center Toruń Plaza.


Dormitories are a large complex (8 floors) of flats designed for two people. Each flat has two single rooms with shared facilities – including a bathroom and a kitchen.

Each room has its own bed, storage space, desk, chair and lamp as well as a free WIFI. Internet connection is available. There is a large communal lounge, a pool table and the gym. There are also laundry facilities available.

There is a good access to the building, bedrooms and modified kitchens for persons with disabilities.


Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided daily in the ‘Ekonomia’ cafeteria (located at FESM) and are included in your fees. The ‘Ekonomia’ cafeteria is the most popular one at the whole university and is visited by students and professors from other faculties because of delicious food and enjoyable surrounding. Besides, near University campus there are many restaurants, cafes and pubs which provide high quality food and drinks.
